ABOUT US
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Housing Cell, has been established to
provide for the housing needs of the poor who either
do not have their own houses or their houses are in
dilapidated condition posing risk to their life and
property.
SBBHC has stepped into operational phase by signing a
project with UNDP for constructing 500 homes in the
disaster hit coastal belt of Sindh. In addition to
this, SBBHC has created a land bank consisting of
suitable pieces of land for housing needs. A search
for more plots is continuing in the entire province.
SBBHC is also engaging with the developers, builders
and relevant NGOs and CBOs to learn from their
experience and plan joint action for this land mark
initiative of the Government.
Government of Sindh has, initially, allocated PKR 2
Billion for SBBHC Program activities in the fiscal
year 2008-09. People’s Housing Cell shall
ultimately transform into an autonomous authority
under the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. SBBHC is
governed by a high level steering committee headed
by Chief Minister Sindh. Names of the Steering
